Cambridge waitlist privacy

What we use

We collect your name and @cam.ac.uk email to manage the Cambridge waitlist and email you a notification when MeetPal launches. We rely on your consent. We also save when you joined, the version of the permission wording and your waitlist status.

Joining does not create a public profile, verify your student identity or commit you to a meetup. This form does not send an automatic confirmation email.

Where your details go

Your details are stored privately using OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Access is limited to authorised MeetPal operators and the providers running the website—not other visitors. We do not sell your details or use this list for unrelated marketing.

Information may be processed outside the UK. OpenAI’s Sites data-processing terms describe the safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum.

We use limited technical data, including a time-limited hashed connection identifier, to prevent abusive submissions. We rely on our legitimate interests in protecting the website and keeping permission and withdrawal records. We do not log signup contents or add advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The hosting service may use technical logs and cookies to operate and protect the site.

Keeping and removing information

We keep your waitlist details while preparing and sending the Cambridge launch notification, then remove information no longer needed. This does not enrol you in an ongoing service.

If you leave, we mark your existing entry as withdrawn to prevent accidental resubscription. This does not automatically delete your details. Signing up again does not reverse that withdrawal.

Your choices

Email support@meetpal.io to leave the list, withdraw consent, or request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful use. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.

You can raise a concern with us or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
